Introducing Airdrie Chiropractor Dr. Ryan Lees

It seemed like nonsense to me.  I'm not sure exactly where the bias came from, but my first impression of chiropractic, even before I knew anything about it, was that it was quackery.  I couldn't have been more wrong.  My first chiropractic experience was a good one and I started university with the intent of going to chiropractic college.

The thing that most attracted me to chiropractic was the profession's inherent respect for the body's ability to heal itself.  In my own family I had witnessed the ineffectiveness of pills and other drugs and I didn't want any part of that.  Yet here was healing profession that could powerfully help people heal themselves by removing interference to the very system that controls healing (the nervous system).  Chiropractic just made sense to me.

Airdrie, Alberta chiropractor, Dr. Ryan Lees

I went to chiropractic college in Toronto at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College after three years of study at the University of Calgary.  I was impressed by the intensity of the course load; we had 10-12 courses per semester.  I especially enjoyed the anatomy and physiology courses and earned the nick-name "The Professor" for my enthusiasm in these areas.  In May of 1990 I graduated with clinical honors and was very happy to return to the West.

Practice has been a grand adventure and one that is continually evolving.  We have refined our approach over the years through continuing education courses and new techniques we have learned.  There are two aspects of practice that are most gratifying.  I especially enjoy helping people with difficult problems that have not been able to receive help elsewhere.  It is exciting to see these people get their lives back.  The other thing I enjoy is just the simple daily interaction with good people.  I like finding out about their lives and helping them live in a fuller healthier way.

In a recent province-wide survey, our staff received the highest scores relating to service and friendliness.  Together we love helping people "Live life fully".

Outside the office, I have four growing boys to raise.  That keeps me busy driving to the hockey rink, the swimming pool, or the soccer pitch.  When I do have some extra time, I enjoy golfing and fly fishing.  If you were to drive by my house in the evenings, you will often find me picking on my tenor banjo or strumming my guitar.  I'm not especially good at either, but I enjoy it.

With regard to looking after my own health, I practise what I preach.  Every Thursday at lunch I drive to Calgary to see Dr. Kricken for my adjustment.  I've been doing that for over fifteen years and it has helped to keep me healthy.  The only time I've seen a medical doctor is for stitches and I never take painkillers or any other drugs for that matter.  My wife and boys get adjusted at least once a week and they are equally healthy.  Because of the research I've done, we decided not to get the children vaccinated and none of them have ever been on antibiotics.  I exercise regularly, either by running or more recently with weights and sometimes by watching sports on TV.

We really want the best for you and your family with regard to your health.  You were designed to be healthy and whatever problems you've got are definitely not the result of a drug deficiency.  There's a better way.  If you would like to discuss your specific challenge please give me a call or click the link below and send me an email.
