Hello World!

Welcome to my Blog!

I’m a curious fellow. I mean that in a knowledge seeking way not in an “I’m odd” sort of way. I like to know things and know the why behind things and I thought that I could be of service to you by offering you more depth in what I’ve learned and will learn than I can in an office visit. I also like concepts or models. They help me to decipher and apply complex ideas as well as give me a framework to remember things. I’ll be sharing those with you as we go along.

There is so much information and so many ideas available. This is especially true regarding looking after ourselves and living well. Since my profession is health care, much of what I discuss will be along those lines. I’ve noticed that most health problems stem directly from lifestyle where even small practical changes can make a definite impact in the outcome.

A growing passion of mine is helping kids reach their full potential. We’ve created a difficult world for our children to grow up in. It’s a world that pushes against the natural needs of a growing body and brain. This shows up in school performance and behavior and focus issues, to name a few. I’ll discuss ways and ideas to create a healthy environment that will allow your children to really thrive.

I may also indulge myself from time to time to talk about other various topics but always with a mind to give you something of value.

I’d love to have feedback from you. Comments or topics you’d like to hear about would be most welcome.

As I close this post, I’ll leave you with a thought that has helped me in the past, “The biggest mistake is not going on.” You won’t need this if you’re in a good spot at the moment, but it may encourage you if you’re not. Though the bible says that we are never given more than we can handle, many times it feels like we are challenged beyond our capacity. Don’t quit! If the best you can do is just hang on, then hang on! This moment is a snap shot, it’s not your whole life.

I agree, there are already some great nuggets of information here. I have yet to be downright ill since reading the post "immunity - what does your brain have to do with it?". I'd recommend checking out that one.

Dr. Lees, how often do you plan to post new blogs?

My plan is to post a new blog twice a week, Monday and Thursday.
