Some Reading Suggestions

If you’re looking for a good book or two, I have some recommendations.  This time of year I often like to look back and look ahead and make a few a course alterations.  If you’re of the same bent, here are a couple books to give you some food for thought.

The One ThingThe sub title is ‘The surprisingly simple truth behind extraordinary results’.  It was a great book for focusing any area of your life and making your efforts more productive.  After all, not everything you do is equal.

The Art of PossibilityA great book on thinking outside the box.

Getting Things DoneThe best book I’ve read on the practical side of controlling your work flow.  He details a system to handle your stuff while freeing up your creative side.

If you’re looking for something more in the spiritual vein give these a read.

Wild at HeartA potentially life changing book about what it means to be a man from God’s point of view.  Very readable and resonates with every man I’ve recommended it to.

Captivating“Wild at Heart” for women.  The book speaks to the feminine heart and her needs, desires and frustrations.

Great DivorceA book about Heaven (kind of) by C.S. Lewis.  Really, you can read anything by Jack and you won’t be disappointed.

For some lighter reading, I’ve recently enjoyed both of these books immensely.

A Higher CallThis is a captivating story about an encounter over Germany during WWII between two enemy pilots and each of their subsequent stories during the war.

UnbrokenLouis Zamperini was shot down in the Pacific during WWII.  He survived 47 days at sea only to be captured and spend the rest of the war in a Japanese POW camp.  It wasn’t fun.  This is his story.  Great book!
